Brickworks Club Hill Climb Champs – 29th August

HILL CLIMB SEASON IS COMING! Yes you heard correctly. Thurs 29th August. You bring the legs,we bring the pain!

Yep, it’s Brickworks time. Prizes available from Shutt Velo Rapide, Rare Mags and BeerStork, not to mention the internationally coveted brick trophy for the winners!

For Wheelers members the Club Hill Climb Championship is up for grabs (can Jack Johnson defend his title…!?), however all are very welcome to enter, not just club members.

It’s a slightly earlier start this year of 6:45pm due to the popularity of previous years but don’t worry we’ll leave sign on open beyond the start for any latecomers.

And as usual the bar will be open afterwards!

If anybody is available to help with sign on, push off, taking photos etc please let Dan or Martin know.

Harry Whitehouse

It’s with sadness that we pass on the news that life member Harry Whitehouse passed away on pure explosion minions vape jetable 6000 bouffees ananas Friday last week, 2 August. Harry joined the club in 1950 and was one of the star road racers and time triallists during the following decade.

Harry’s funeral will be on Monday 19th August at metss social duckling disposable vape 12000 puffs mango 13.00 at Blackley Crematorium, Victoria Avenue, M9 8PJ.

Those attending are invited to The Woodthorpe Hotel, Bury New Road, M25 1PY afterwards.

New Club Kit From Shutt VR – Order by 24th June

Final exciting kit news!

We have a new kit supplier in Shutt Velo Rapide, and club kit is available NOW through this online portal:

There are a couple of reasons why we decided to switch from Bioracer to Shutt Velo Rapide at the last moment but the main one is that we have a prominent club member in Colin Lynch working for Shutt VR who will be able to manage the whole process for us. We also get our own online ordering portal which will make the whole purchasing process much more straightforward. Deliveries will be made direct to your home address rather than having to be collected, and turnaround time is super quick at only 4 weeks. Club members also get 15% off the regular Shutt kit too!

So what do you need to do?

  • The order portal will close on 24th June so your orders will need to be in by then (ignore the 1st July which is stated on the portal itself)
  • Sample kit is being held at Cycle Space in Disley for the next week or so for you to try on different sizes before ordering.

Apologies again for any inconvenience and if you placed an order for any of the Bioracer kit, rest assured you will be fully re-imbursed. We are confident this is the best decision for the club in the long run.

Open Event Dates for the Club Championships

17th May 2019

For those competing in the Club Championships this year the following Open events are being used as the counting events:

  • 22/06/2019 East Lancs RC Open 25 (J2/9) – Enter
  • 20/07/2019 Congleton CC Open 50 (J4/9) – Enter

As usual, unlike the Club 10s these events need to be entered around 10 days in advance via CTT. Points will be awarded towards the Club Championships for these events just like the Club 10s.

The Club 10s are now under way with our first event for marshalling this coming Monday. As always if you are able to help with marshalling one of the events please let us know.
