John Woodburn RIP
« on: April 16, 2017, 11:28:36 AM »
Life member and legend John Woodburn has sadly passed away.

A 25 mile, BBAR, 12 hour and 24 hour champion as well as holder of various point to point records, most famously, Lands End to John O Groats. John became the first rider to double up the 24 hour and 12 hour national championship victories in 1981 and his distance of 488.43 miles for the 24 still stands as a club record.

The thoughts of all connected to the club are with John's family at this time.

RIP John

Here's a link to Cycling Weekly's Obituary. John Woodburn was undoubtedly one of the greats, and remained a member of Manchester Wheelers until his death.

RIP from Manchester Wheelers' Club.
