Club discussion / Club Championships Update
« on: May 17, 2019, 03:59:06 PM »
For those competing in the Club Championships this year the following Open events are being used as the counting events:

22/06/2019 - East Lancs RC Open 25 (J2/9)
20/07/2019 - Congleton CC Open 50 (J4/9)

As usual, unlike the Club 10s these events need to be entered around 10 days in advance via CTT. Points will be awarded towards the Club Championships for these events just like the Club 10s.

In case you missed it the Club Champs started last week with Stockport Clarion marshalling. It's our first event for marshalling this coming Monday. We have enough people but if you can marshall any future events let us know.

Full details of the events here: http://www.manchesterwheelers.uk/club-events/

Tune in to BBC Breakfast tomorrow to catch the story of former speedway star Ricky Ashworth. A few of our members (Jerry, Brian and Karl) have been helping him out at the track by piloting him on the Tandem after a serious injury, and should be in the piece which will air at 6:40am, 7:40 and 8:40.

Would be great to get a few more Wheelers involved and do club rides on the Saturday and Sunday. If you want to join us just book yourself a room. Got myself, Holly, Martin and Rob Scott going so far. Message Holly if you need any more info.

To anybody who is keen to do more Hill Climbs, definitely check out the Facebook group UK Hill Climbing, set up by our own Christian Fox.

You'll find details of all this seasons Hill Climb events, some informal like this one, and some a (little) bit more serious, all leading towards the National Hill Climb Championships on October 28th which is possibly the most fun thing a cyclist has ever invented.

Thanks!
