AGM and Trophy Claims Deadline 2018

Annual General Meeting, 2018

The 2018 AGM will take place on Monday 10th December, from 7pm to 9pm at Manchester Velodrome.

All welcome.

The agenda includes receipt of the Annual Report and Accounts, the election of officers for 2019, rule changes (including those proposed by members) and Any Other Business.

If you would like a specific item added to the agenda, please contact the General Secretary in writing (email is fine) by Friday 30th November.

Nominations for officers: If you’d like to join the Committee, or to take on another role, please inform the General Secretary, and if you wish you can be added to the nominations list.

Claims for Prizes and Trophies

Please submit your claims for Club Championships, Trophies and Time Trial Standard Certificates in writing (email or paper) to the General Secretary by FRIDAY 19th OCTOBER.

Except for qualifying Manchester Wheelers ‘club’ events, claims must be accompanied by the relevant event result sheet(s).

Awarded to the Club Senior Track Champion.

The Albert E. Reeks Memorial Shield (Rule 8.1.2)

Awarded to the Club Junior Track Champion.

The Jimmy Taylor Road Champion Trophy (Rule 8.2.1)

Awarded to the Club Best All Rounder Champion (B.A.R.).

The Jones Homes–Alexander Milnes Trophy (Rule 8.2.2)

Awarded to the Middle Distance Best All Rounder.

The Sun Trophy (Rule 8.2.3)

Awarded to the winner of the Short Distance Best All Rounder.

The Gordon Buchanan Cup (Rule 8.2.4)

Awarded to the winner of the Men’s Short Distance Best All Rounder.

The R. G. Thomas Trophy (Rule 8.2.5)

Awarded to the Club Junior Time Trials Champion.

The Reg Harris Trophy (Rule 8.2.6)

Awarded to the Club Events Handicap Champion.

The Norman Grattage Trophy (Rule 8.2.7)

Awarded to the Club Events Scratch Time Trial Champion.

Awarded to the Club Senior Road Race Champion.

The British Vita Junior Trophy (Rule 8.3.2)

Awarded to the Club Junior Road Race Champion.

The Juvenile/Youth Track Trophy (Rule 8.1.3)

Awarded to the Club Juvenile/Youth Track Champion.

The Cyclo Cross Trophy (rule 8.4)

Awarded to the Club Cyclo Cross Champion.

Awarded to the Club Hill Climb Champion

The Fred Batley Memorial Shield

To perpetuate the memory of Club member Fred Batley who was killed in France during the Second World War. The Club B.A.R. shall have his/her name engraved each year on this shield.

The Bill Critchley Memorial Shield

To perpetuate the memory of Club member Bill Critchley who died in a Japanese Prison Camp during the Second World War. The Club Senior Track Champion shall have his/her name engraved each year on this shield.

The Fred Armytage Memorial Shield

To perpetuate the memory of Club member Fred Armytage who was killed at Arras, 10th May 1917. The fastest Club member in an Open 50 Miles Time Trial Event shall have his/her name engraved each year on this shield.

The Fred Currie Memorial ’50’

To perpetuate the memory of Club member Fred Currie who joined the Club in 1904 and died in 1963. This Time Trial is run annually, as a Club Event or in conjunction with the Club Open 50 Miles Time Trial Event or any other Open 50 Miles Time Trial Event as agreed by the Committee and notified to Members prior to 1st April in the relevant year. The fastest Club member shall be presented with an engraved plaque.

The Albert E. Reeks Memorial Shield

To perpetuate the memory of Club member Albert E. Reeks, who was killed at Salonica, 11th November 1918. The Club Junior Track Champion shall have his/her name engraved each year on this shield.

Open Event Trophies

The Jimmy Taylor Memorial Trophy

Presented to the winner of the Open 12 Hours Time Trial. When not promoted, presented to the Club member who covers the highest mileage in Open 12 Hours Time Trial Competition.

The Alf Hughes Memorial Trophy

Presented to the winner of the Open 100 Miles Time Trial. When not promoted, presented to the Club member who records the fastest time in Open 100 Miles Time Trial Competition.

The Matt Bradshaw Memorial Trophy

Presented to the winner of the Open Hill Climb Time Trial. When not promoted, presented to the first claim Club member who records the fastest time in the Club Event, Cat & Fiddle Hill Climb.

The 1.04.00 Limit Shield

Presented to the Club Member who records the fastest time in Open 25 Miles Time Trial Competition, between 1st January and 30th September having not previously recorded a time faster than 1.04.00 in the last three seasons.

Presented to the male and female Club members who record the fastest times / distances in 10 miles, 25 miles, 30 miles, 50 miles, 100 miles, 12 hours, 24 hours in Open Cycling Time Trials
